The Play More Pompey Deck is the start of a brand new interactive football community to give you the opportunity to develop your football career, signing up gives you the opportunity to be in touch with numerous football related activities throughout the area. The deck will let you know exactly what sort of events are happening and where or when they are taking place, giving the opportunity to attend with a group of mates, or make new friends whilst you’re there! There are 3 different types of activities to be involved in; Training, Reserves, and First team events. Training events are any type of football you participate in, whether its training with your club, a 5 a side match, soccercise or a kick about down the park; all you need to do is log your activity and how long you were doing it for, giving you the opportunity to build up points. Reserve Team activities are regular events organised through the Play More Pompey team. They may be based around 5-a-side or 11-a-side sessions but are available for people of all ages and abilities. Finally, First Team events; these are composed of special events which will only happen a few times per year, but are definitely not something you would want to miss out on. These could include, but aren’t limited to; swamp football, dungeon football, ship soccer and football at Brambles Bank. Attending and logging these activities give you points which can add up to win badges and incentives, which could be football or non-football related. The more points you collect, the more prizes you can win! Points can also be won through the general use of the website, including completing your profile, inviting friends and logging your own ‘Training’ activities. Can’t play due to injury? Just submit your injury details to our Physio and we’ll give you some advice on how to deal with it.
The Deck also gives the chance for you to learn new skills and drills, targeted for all abilities. New videos will be uploaded consistently in order to teach you. Depending on your ability there may be some skills that you find easy and have been doing for years, or there could be some which you’ve never tried before. We will try to challenge you, as we want you to be able to improve and continue your football development, no matter what ability you are starting at.
We have also got a blog which is an extension of our website, where we will try to keep you up to date in the world of football. This can be through telling you more about up and coming events, to tell you what people are thinking in the area, to give you access to interviews, football articles, or posts from football experts. If there is anything that you would like to see on the blog, feel free to comment in order to let us know!
